Opening a Bank account in London
Many people travelling to London may have heard about the challenges of the banking system and opening a bank account! To assist our candidates we have worked with Lloyds TSB in setting in place an account opening services enabling you to open a bank account easily in London.
All you need to do is:
- Request a referral letter from us, these can be provided on the day of registration with us
- Complete Sections 2, 3 and 8 of Lloyds TSB account application form (we have these available at reception for you)
- Call and make an appointment to open an account. This typically takes 20 minutes and the local branch of Lloyds TSB is approximately 3 minutes walk from us
- You will need to take with you your passport, working visa (if your require one) and the referral letter we provide you.

How do I get there?

From our office, cross the road and walk down High Holborn towards Chancery Lane tube station. Continue past the tube station and past a Sainsbury’s store and their head office until you reach an intersection. Lloyds TSB is just across the road and to your right.
Please note that this is the only branch of TSB we have this account opening facility set up with.
What will your account provide you?
- Your account will be opened immediately
- You will receive a two in one card within 3 days and this will enable to withdraw cash at cash point machines nationwide and internationally, purchase items over the Internet, purchase items in shops using ‘chip and pin’ and additionally at the cash point machines you can top up your mobile phone or pay bills
- Internet and telephone banking facilities
- A cheque book, if required.
How much does it cost?
There are no set up fees and you will only be charged for overdraft fees (assuming you go into overdraft) and additional services you use, such as international transfer of funds.
Can anyone open an account with Lloyds TSB
The only conditions that Lloyds TSB have are:
- If you are only eligible to work in the UK under a visa then your visa must not expire within the next six months
- You must provide the documentation we have outlined above.
